Overview

Swissport is seeking an experienced and dynamic Station General Manager to lead our operations at Jersey Airport. This senior leadership role, reporting to the Regional Operations Director, will drive operational excellence and ensure the delivery of high-quality services across the station. You will have full financial and operational responsibility for the station, managing safety, P&L, quality service delivery, and business growth while developing key relationships with customers and stakeholders.

 

This is a hands-on leadership position requiring strategic thinking, operational insight, and the ability to inspire and coach a diverse team.

Responsibilities

1. Safety Leadership

  • Champion a strong safety culture, ensuring all safety and security measures are adhered to and continuously improved.
  • Drive the achievement of top health, safety, and security standards across the station.

2. P&L Management

  • Own and deliver P&L targets, ensuring financial performance meets or exceeds expectations.
  • Regularly analyse financial data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Oversee budget preparation, capital expenditures, and investments in station infrastructure, equipment, and resources.

3. Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team to achieve business objectives while ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, including airline management, airport authorities, customs, and immigration, to meet business targets.
  • Drive people engagement through recognition and performance management.

4. Quality & Operational Efficiency

  • Ensure operational efficiency and continuous improvement in service delivery and quality standards.
  • Implement corporate processes and KPIs to maintain consistent, high-quality performance.
  • Monitor and track performance against safety and quality standards, implementing corrective actions as needed.

5. Business Growth & Strategy

  • Support the development of key customer relationships and ensure commercial alignment with business goals.
  • Drive the growth and retention of customer accounts, identifying new opportunities and fostering long-term partnerships.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Operations Director to define strategic and operational objectives.

6. Relationship Building

  • Cultivate trust and collaboration within the team and with external stakeholders to deliver exceptional results.
  • Foster a customer-centric culture, focusing on understanding customer needs and adapting to their evolving priorities.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience with significant P&L accountability and leadership of large teams.
  • Strong business acumen, with a solid understanding of profitability drivers and operational performance.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven ability to lead change, challenge the status quo, and achieve sustainable results.
