Overview

Senior Accountant – Revenue & Cost of Sales

 

Location: UK Headquarters, Runcorn, Liverpool (Hybrid)

 

Salary: Competitive

 

Contract Type: Fixed Term for 12 Months

 

 

To be the financial subject matter expert, driving consistency and efficiency across Revenue & Cost of Sales and ensuring records are maintained in line with Group Guidelines and IFRS. Owner of relevant P&L and Balance Sheet codes covering the Ground Handling, Lounge and Cargo divisions for all the stations in UK&I.

Working closely with the Finance Business Partners who are key stakeholders to ensure information supports their reporting requirement and working with other internal stakeholders to support continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Review of General Ledgers:

  • Scrutinize postings to relevant general ledgers.
  • Ensure compliance with Group policies and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Coordinate necessary adjustments.

Monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliation:

  • Maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Identify discrepancies and resolve them promptly.

Process Improvement:

  • Evaluate existing practices and processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Cost Savings and Efficiency:

  • Identify areas of waste or potential cost savings.
  • Implement strategies to optimize financial processes.

Decision-Support Reporting:

  • Provide essential information to Business Partners.
  • Assist in creating insightful reports for decision-making.
  • Highlight trends and impacts.

Audit Support:

  • Lead audit testing in your area of expertise.
  • Collaborate on the preparation of company accounts.
  • Ensure timely completion of ONS Returns.

Professional Development:

  • Contribute to monthly reporting.
  • Support and mentor colleagues for their growth.

Qualifications

Knowledge:

  • Working knowledge of Financial accounting standards and principles
  • Excellent knowledge of Management Accounting Principles

 

Skills:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and Financial Systems
  • Able to communicate effectively to different functions and all levels of the business
  • Ability to manage competing demands to tight deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to deal with ambiguity / partial information

 

Experience/Education:

  • Ideally, degree educated in a numerical or business-related subject
  • Qualified Accountant
  • Training based in Management Accounts environment
  • Experience of a large, multi-site business
  • SAP experience
  • Experience of a low margin / high volume contract environment is desirable but not essential.
