Overview

Regional Training Officer

 

Location: Heathrow Airport

 

 

Reporting to the Regional Training Manager / Regional Training Coordinator, the Regional Training Officer will provide training activities at all stations within their region as required. This will include delivery of training to employees in a classroom and practical setting for initial and refresher training.


Each Regional Training Officer will be a subject matter expert in a minimum of one function and have the ability to be cross utilised in all generic training delivery and assessment.

They will provide support to On the Job Coaches (OJC) at station to ensure local specific requirements are met, and that any delivery is conducted in accordance with Swissport Training Policy and Procedure expectations.

They will complete regular training assessments to ensure standards are maintained.

Responsibilities

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The following responsibilities are associated with this job role:

  • To conduct training activities as set out in the regional training plan in accordance with Swissport policy, process and the Western Europe Training Services Roadmap.
  • Station Contact for queries
  • Training Notice issuance
  • Third Party Training Provision Management
  • Training Quality / CPD oversight - CAA / IAA requirements
  • Coaching, mentoring and management of training personnel (OJC)
  • Station compliance
  • Station induction plans and delivery
  • Station up-skill delivery
  • Station revalidation training (mandatory and technical)
  • Training communications
  • Active Supervision coordination, reporting and support for Ambassadors - Facilitate TTT sessions as needed.
  • Stakeholder Engagement - internal and external
  • Update/share feedback via Yammer, newsletter, email and skype calls.
  • Issue joining instructions and pre-course requirements.
  • Organise and book training related facilities as required.
  • Complete Weekly Training Schedule
  • Ensure Compliance with All Operating Procedures (Including Station Safety Rules)
  • Ensure Compliance with All Uniform & PPE Requirements
  • Ensure Effective Communications with Team Members
  • Issue Performance Training Intervention Notices
  • Participate in Regular Team Meetings
  • Ensure Compliance with Safety & Quality Requirements
  • Ensure Compliance and Quality of Training Delivery and Evaluation - Including Annual Corporate Training Audits
  • Conduct Investigations as Required
  • To ensure that all training provided across sites is inclusive and that good practice can be evidenced.
  • Ensure CPD is completed personally and within the team in line with training quality expectations.
  • Issue Performance Training Intervention Notices
  • Deliver against Station Training Schedules, Plans and Skills Targets
  • Ensure Compliance with Training Quality Assurance Standards and Safeguarding expectations.
  • Apply consistent and appropriate use / application of Training Materials, Policies and Processes.
  • Ensure Overall Quality and Compliance of Technical / Developmental Training - Including regular Auditing Duties


KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

 

  • Training Compliance (Business, Safety Critical and Other).
  • Training Quality and Standardisation - 30% of stations (36-month rotation) subject to full training survey
  • Training observations conducted for classroom and practical training. Feedback to trainers for continued development
  • Qualification standards of training community and safeguarding performance.
  • Training Cost Control
  • Revenue generation from training sales to third parties.
  • QHSE performance

 

Qualifications

 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

 

  • Demonstrable experience in managing, monitoring and evaluating learning and development solutions, across a diverse range of disciplines and delivery methods.
  • Solid demonstratable experience of leading teams in a demanding, fast paced, heavily regulated environment that focuses on service delivery.
  • Strong people skills and an ability to forge excellent working relationships with a wide range of internal / external stakeholders.
  • Excellent understanding of Health and Safety and track record in meeting safety related targets
  • Well-developed organisational, negotiating, decision making and analytical skills.
  • Ability to use metrics to demonstrate ROI / ROE
  • Proficient in Microsoft / IT skills
