External and Internal Comms & Engagement Manager

Reporting to: Head of HR Business Partnering
Reporting to the Head of HR Partnering the Internal Communications & Engagement Manager will form part of the People and Communications team and will lead on the delivery of communications to colleagues across the UK & Ireland.
It will include the creation and delivery of engaging communications to ensure colleagues:

What You'll Do:
· Develop and implement external and internal communication strategies.
· Developing and executing external communications plan in coordination with the UKI stakeholders and the Global comms team.
· Proactively pitching stories that position Swissport as the best aviation services provider.
· Writing press releases, statements, Q&As, key messages.
· Support effective crisis management communications in real-time, including timely and accurate information sent to the media and key internal stakeholders
· Develop UKI regional crisis manual covering media and internal communications by setting clear protocols (contacts, signing off process, etc). Executing and training effective crisis procedures in the UKI including media training to designated spokespeople.
· Participate in crisis simulation exercises to prepare the regional UKI team for high pressure situations.
· Build relationships with key stakeholders to understand priorities across the business and internal communications requirements.
· Collaborate with various departments to gather information and distribute internal updates.
· Lead on the delivery of the Regional Internal communications strategy to drive quality, effective communication and in turn drive colleague engagement.
· Partner the HR Leadership Team to create and deliver communication plans for projects and campaigns taking place across the Region, helping to generate awareness and participation among colleagues.
· Manage communication channels such as OneAPP, weekly newsletter, face-to-face briefings and events.
· Assist in organising company-wide events.
· Create engaging content for internal communication platforms.
· Coordinate with the Global team to ensure brand consistency.
· Monitor and report on the effectiveness of internal communications.
· Manage internal communication emergencies and devise preventative measures
About You:
· 5+ years of experience in a press office and Internal Communications role.
· A degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, or a related field.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to tailor communication for the media and diverse internal audiences.
· Proficiency in creating engaging content across various communication channels.
· Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
· Experience in corporate communications including media relations in the UK and internal communications
· Excellent news judgment and ability to balance the needs of the business and the media to develop and propose the best solutions to protect the company’s reputation including proactive and reactive (crisis) media handling.
· Able to handle large amounts of complex information in a time-sensitive context to prioritise tasks and work under pressure to tight media deadlines.
· Experience dealing with external PR agencies setting up KPIs and deliverables to measure performance.
· Knowledge of internal communication best practices.
· Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
